Designing for Edgelessness
We are designing in a world of edgelessness -- accounting for an infinite number of touchpoints across more devices, products, features, content, platforms, people, countries, languages, browsers, screen sizes, context, and more.
In this talk we’ll talk about how design systems and style guides provide solid foundations for teams to maintain consistency and build more efficiently while tackling the dizzying landscape of an edgeless design ecosystem.
Mastery is the key to being a great product designer. But so is stepping outside of your comfort zone. Throughout my career I've made an effort to step outside of my comfort zone as much as humanly possible. This presentation is about new beginnings and looking at the world with fresh eyes.
Having masters in one field look at problems in another is a core contributor to innovation. Industrial designers can become fantastic UX designers. UX designers make great storytellers. Painters can become brilliant architects and vise versa. At TM, our value is about stepping outside of our comfort zone to help companies create new and unexpected products that change the trajectory of their business. In this presentation, we’ll explore case studies to help you take smart risks to expand your impact as a designer.
Moving People with Motion: Designing the future of transportation at Uber.
Motion design is an integral part of designing engaging products. In this talk two of Uber’s product designers talk through tools, techniques, tips, and tactics they use for creating beautiful motion prototypes at Uber.
You’ll learn the basics of how to use animation in interface design, common mistakes, best practices, tips on which tool to use in different situations, as well as some real world examples of how they were used to create beautiful products at Uber.
Design at Work
How to explain design to people who don’t know what they want but know it when they see it. Let’s face it, design is a messy and complicated process at the best of times and largely invisible at the worst. Understanding how design fits into your company can give you a better perspective on how to change perception, gain influence, collaborate more effectively, and generally get better design in the hands of your users.
Transcending Omnichannel: How designing human experiences transforms how people think, feel and do.
Through three examples: Apple (retail), Citi (fintech), Dolby (entertainment) we will explore how we helped define the brief for each client, navigated the design and creation process and ultimately how our work changed the landscape in each of these categories. Central to each project is a deep understanding of our client’s needs and how emotional engagement with the end user is the core of an experience that transcends omnichannel and drives tremendous value through ROE (Return on Experience).
